![]() ![]() Now, I don’t blame a company for trying to make a profit, that’s why they exist. This means less spent on wages and more profit for the investors. Mobile games are considerably cheaper to produce as only a small team and a short time frame is needed to make them. There’s one key reason why companies like Blizzard and others are looking to enter the mobile gaming market, and that’s profit. So, why are the big players in the industry flocking to mobile gaming? And if Diablo, a staple of PC gaming, was capable of being made into a mobile game, then anyone could be next. ![]() This was a blatant disregard of a loyal fan base. But we all remember the Diablo announcement that will forever be immortalised (get it?) by Blizzard’s new battle cry: “Do you guys not have phones?”. Don't forget that the whole reason this happened was because Overwatch 2 was announced in 2019 while it was nowhere near being finished, but the existence of an Overwatch 2 significantly drove down interest in the original Overwatch since it was now viewed as essentially a lame duck, so Blizzard had to rush out an Overwatch 2 PvP only release to get people playing the game again but the effort required for said release prevented them from doing the PvE mode that was the whole point of doing an Overwatch 2 in the first place, and the reason they announced Overwatch 2 super early and put themselves in this ludicrous predicament is because in 2019 Blizzard banned a couple Hearthstone players for speaking out in support of the pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong and they were getting absolutely REEMED for that decision because their fanbase are a bunch of reddit libs whose international politics begin and end at "china bad" so what I'm trying to say here is that we have our glorious Chairman Xi Jinping to thank for the collapse of Overwatch. Now, I’m not trying to trigger anyone’s PTSD. ![]()
